Chris Pinnick’s comments about Terry Kath and Chicago are fantastic. ⬇️
I was reading one of the many posts on FB about who was the best guitar player in Chicago…There is only one best Terry Kath..I knew I would never be able to play like Terry so I just tried to play my best…There are guitar players that can never be copied and Terry is one of those…I also think that Terry Kath up in Heaven would not want clones in his band…He would want us to play our heart like he did…So my answer is there is no better just different…One reporters opinion…
There are always guitar hooks that needed to be played..If You Leave Me Now would not be the same without Peters iconic solo…Hard To Say I Am Sorry would not be the same without Steve Lukather’s solo and guitar parts.. With 16 and 17 there were a ton of guitar hooks…I tried to play as many of these hooks as I could because without those the songs would not be the same…
Bottom line Terry Kath was an incredible guitar player and nobody can touch him…Everytime I listen to him I hear something new..
My favorite time in the band was the tour I did before Foster showed up….We jammed a lot ..We played as a band… We played great tunes just the best…There was no click track hahahahahaha
Wow! long winded for me hahahahahahahah

On CTA Terry used a ’64 Gibson Firebird III which was later owned by Allen Collins of Lynrd Skynrd fame in 1975/6. In 2014  it was auctioned off in Jacksonville, FL where it had been restored.
